Everything you do in life can have an effect on how long you live. Like what you eat, whether you have a regular exercise routine, what
type of job you do, how you deal with stress, and who you spend most of your time with can all be so important to your own well-being. While
certain things can take years off your life, other things can add them on.
Add Years to Your Life
I’m sure most of you are doing some of the following things and if you are great… just don’t stop doing them as they could add a few additional
years onto your life.
Do Moderate Activities: + 1 year
Burning up calories doing gentle activities is a good way to keep healthy. Walking is excellent. Not only is it good for your body it’s great
for the soul and guys if you are single take a puppy dog along with you…girls love to say Hi to a puppy. (What a great way to meet a new
friend). If you aim to burn up 1,500 calories a week doing such activities you will extend your life. Gardening can burn one calorie a
minute.
Get out and About: + 3 years
This follows on from moderate activities, you really need to get out and socialize. Older people who keep themselves active by eating out, going
to the movies or just playing cards live longer than those who choose to become reclusive.
Build Up Your Muscle: + 10 years Muscle helps the metabolism deal with blood sugar,
which lowers the risk of various illnesses. And it makes you feel and look a whole lot better.
Cut Your Cholesterol: + 15 years
People with lower cholesterol levels live a lot longer. Cutting down your intake of fat will help reduce your cholesterol.
Eat More Potassium: + 10 years
Yes it’s bananas… potassium lowers blood pressure which increases your chances of a long healthy life. So eat more high potassium foods like
bananas, potatoes and raisins which are all good for you.
Eat less Calories: + 10 years
Research has shown that eating no more than 900 to 1,100 a day can dramatically extend your life.
Go Vegetarian: + 15 years
A vegetarian diet can lower the risk of health problems such as heart disease, colon cancer and diabetes. Veggies live up to seven times longer
than meat-eaters.
